Volunteerism and Community Contributions

Volunteer Fundraising

Since January 2016, we have been conducting fundraising activities through employee volunteers. Donations from these activities and the company’s matching contributions are combined and used to fund the activities of the Chunichi Shimbun Social Project Foundation. We will continue to carry out these activities in the future through the participation of our employees.

Donating Revenue From Selling Electricity

Since 2013, we have been donating a portion of our income from selling electricity generated by the solar panels for our remote monitoring demonstration experiment to local governments where our offices are located every year.

Community Cleanup

Since 2006, we have been beautifying the vicinity of our offices by picking up garbage and so on every month.

Support for the Disabled and Medical Insurance Support

Donating Vending Machine Revenue

We donate a portion of the proceeds from vending machines installed within the company to the Green Fund and for guide dog training expenses.

Donating Through Ecocap (Bottle Cap Recycling) Activities

We collect caps from plastic beverage bottles purchased by our employees and donate them to NPOs that provide support for the disabled and for medical care.

Support for Maternal and Child Health Activities (as a Supporting Member of People’s Hope Japan)

We provide support as a People’s Hope Japan supporting member for ongoing educational support activities in the field of maternal and child health. People’s Hope Japan is a non-governmental organization (NGO) involved in international cooperation to help people in developing countries in Asia to become self-reliant with a focus on health and medicine education.

Farm Activities to Create Employment for People With Disabilities

We operate an outdoor farm from a work integration social enterprise (social firm) that allows companies to provide an environment where people with disabilities can work with peace of mind on a long-term basis. The harvested vegetables are also used to benefit society in ways that include making donations to food banks.

Relief Donations

We donate relief funds to assist victims in recovering from natural disasters.

FY2018: In response to the torrential rains of July 2018, we donated disaster relief funds through the Japanese Red Cross Society.
FY2019: In response to a disastrous typhoon in 2019, we donated disaster relief funds through the Japanese Red Cross Society.
FY2020: In response to the torrential rains of July 2020, we donated disaster relief funds through the Japanese Red Cross Society.
FY2023: In response to the Noto Peninsula Earthquake of January 2024, we donated disaster relief funds through the Japanese Red Cross Society.

Youth Development Donations (Boys & Girls Invention Club Toyota)

We sponsor the activities of the Invention Club, which nurtures the dreams and creativity of local children.

Support for Research Activities

Support for Science and Technology Researchers (Hagiwara Foundation of Japan)

We provide support for the activities of the Hagiwara Foundation of Japan, an organization that develops subsidized research project to support research institutions, researchers, and engineers who are engaged in science and technology development in a variety of fields.

Support for Promoting Traditional Culture and Sports

Promoting Sports (Grampus Eight Supporters’ Association)

We are cooperating with efforts to revitalize local sports through initiatives that include participation in the Supporters’ Association of the Nagoya Grampus Eight, the local soccer club in Nagoya.

Promoting Noh Theater (as a Supporting Member of the Nagoya Noh Promotive Association)

We promote social education through activities that encourage and contribute to the development of Noh, a traditional Japanese art form, and we support activities whose purpose is to promote culture, performing arts, and the sound development of children.
