Going forward, our plan is to focus on the development of businesses based on “local production for local consumption” so that we can optimize the services of each area. Take, for example, cars. Overseas customers may have ideas or opinions on elements of a car that differ from those of customers in Japan; the ideal thickness of the steering wheel, for example. Therefore, we are focusing resources on developing the skills of local engineers and sales staff so that we can develop products and services that will be appealing to local customers. In this way we can accelerate business localization and respond to the needs of customers who are implementing global expansion strategies.

Looking ahead, we are actively forming new partnerships with overseas manufacturers so that we will be in a position to provide the products our customers will require; motor control devices essential for EVs, liquid crystal panels, and other information systems products, for example. We are also actively involved in initiatives to broaden our supplier base which includes selling new products sourced from foreign companies to Japanese manufacturers and supplying OEMs.

Based on painstaking research that utilizes our extensive network, we are able to fully grasp the features of the local area and use that information to develop overseas business. Development and design support is already being implemented in North America utilizing expertise cultivated in Japan. We have established a system to support customers, who are accelerating their overseas manufacturing operations, understanding that overseas expansion is a key aspect of business.

We are working to promote the adoption of digitalization and efficiency improvements in the manufacturing industry, which the Hagiwara Electric Group specializes in, with a particular focus on China. We are seeing growth in demand for measurement equipment, evaluation systems, IT equipment, and digital transformation services at the production sites of Japanese manufacturers, particularly in the auto parts and material handling industries.

We are actively engaged in growing activities in growing markets such as China, India and ASEAN countries. Through these activities, we aim to discover new markets and develop new businesses, thereby furthering global expansion.
